About this Speaker

Mr. Robert Iannuzzi was recently was selected as the Chief Engineer for the Naval Architecture and Engineering Department at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division in West Bethesda. Maryland, where he also serves in the Hydrodynamics Working Group, Technical Excellence Community of Interest and is the Department Lead for Digital Engineering Strategy. He began his professional career serving in the United States Air Force within various roles such as Electrical and Environmental Systems Technician, Maintenance Special Operations Technician, and Enlisted Accessions Recruiter. After nine years of service, Robert pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Project Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology while working as an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer and Systems Engineering at Schindler Elevator Corporate R&D. Mr. Iannuzzi has recently completed a Master's of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology with a certificate in Space Systems Engineering and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering there as well. His first role in the Navy was as an In-Service Engineering Agent in the Cartridge Actuated and Propellant Actuated Devise (CAD/PAD) Division at NSWC Indian Head. Robert has also served in various roles such as Lead Systems Engineer, Project Manager, Additive Manufacturing Lead, and Mechanical Design Engineer in the Fleet Integration and Readiness Engineering (FIRE) Lab located at NSWC Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity in Virginia Beach. Prior to his assignment he was a Mission and Systems Engineer, as well as a Model-Based Systems Engineering Leads at NSWC Dahlgren Division, assigned to the Warfare Analysis Modeling and Simulation Department's Mission Level Engineering branch. In this capacity, Robert served as the Surface Warfare Technical Lead for Cross-SYSCOM Mission Engineering and Architecture development efforts, the Project Manager for a process development effort aimed at leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering for system development and certification in addition to being the Digital Engineering Implementation Lead for the NSWC Dahlgren’s Project Execution focus area.
